About the content

Zooglot is a game made for entertainment. We collect the animal sounds from common written usage in each language, such as comics, children's books and dictionaries. The same sound is often written in several ways, and spellings differ by region, so the spellings shown here are not the only correct ones. If you think a spelling is wrong, email us and we will look at it.

Intellectual property

The Zooglot name, design, texts, question engine and the compilation of the sound database belong to Viking Labs. You may share screenshots and your results freely. Please do not copy the site, its code or its database in bulk without our written permission.

The fonts Dela Gothic One and Bricolage Grotesque are used under the SIL Open Font License. Animal emoji are drawn by your own device's emoji font.

We try to keep Zooglot accurate and online, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or free of errors.
